Front Wall Cost Estimate

Unfortunately I don’t think we will be able to afford doing the wall this year.  I want the front yard presentable, and that means getting the pea gravel out, a sprinkler in, and the beds / grass set.

We will just have to wait until the end of the summer to see if we can afford it.

Rounded up to 75 linear feet x 1.5 feet high  =  113 face feet

Martha has recommended G&X Landscape to do the retaining wall. She said they charge $25 / face foot, which covers both material cost and labor.
113 x 25 = $2825 (or roughly $1800 in labor).

For Strip Stone 4″ = 1 ton covers 40′,  3 need tons.  at $355/ton = $1065  10% off is $962.

  1. So the wall came in at $1000 above the estimate. We had 76 linear feet at 1.5 feet high. The stone we chose, was a buff color that added cost to the project.

Our total cost. $3800, scheduled for 5/26
