Dotted blazing star

Size: 1-2ft (height- when flowering) x 1ft wide

Growth rate, habit: upright singular or clusters of stems with seed heads at the top.

Foliage: Thin light green leaves around the stem. To form a bushier plant, cut back or mow during growing season.

Flowers:   6″ tall pink to lavender purples flowers appear mid-late summer (August to October)


In the Garden

2019- fall seeding between prairie dropseed.   Seeds were procured from seed collection by the CO native plant society.  About 12 seeds pushed into overturned bluegrass soil.  Will also try to grow from seed in spring.

The center line contains over turned bluegrass.
